I chose the name “The Liturgical Homestead” not because my family does this perfectly (we definitely don’t), but because I think there are others out there who want to have a liturgical homestead. I’ll record my ponderings on the topic, share some of our traditions, as well as our “discoveries” about this way of living. I want to explore the idea of “liturgy” as it is used in the broader sense, more as in “liturgical living”, not strictly in reference to Mass.
The intention of this blog is not to make a living off it. Therefore, I do not wish to engage in social media in the way that others do, I do not intend to keep a set posting schedule. I will write when I have the time and when I feel inclined to.
I have blogged in the past and hated having to engage for the sake of keeping up with the ever-changing algorithms. It was part of the reason we eschewed the internet for two years. I have more important things to be doing with my time than chasing views and likes.
You should know that I’m working on writing a book that I would really like to see published. I don’t want it published for monetary gain or fame, but in hopes of helping others who are trying to integrate their faith and homesteading. If nothing more comes of this blog or the book than clarifying my own thoughts, then it will be worth the effort.
In Christ,
Danielle
